Biography

            Before going to art school I traveled and worked in Europe for six years, living mainly in Madrid and Athens. I explored the galleries and other cultural sites which gave me a deeper appreciation of the arts. On my return to New Zealand I studied at Otago Polytechnic School of Fine Art, majoring in painting - Dip FA.

            I have exhibited in many solo and group shows since graduating. On moving to Central Otago ten years ago I became a founding member of Hullabaloo Art Space.

From my studio at Bendigo I enjoy views of the Clutha River and several mountain ranges. I'm exposed directly to the moods, changing appearance and physical impact of the landscape.

Artist Statement

            The landscape interests me on many levels as it feeds us both physically and emotionally it presents a changing vista, daily and seasonally, depending on the light and weather and how each individual looks at it. So these works explores the way we see, feel and remember landscape. Allowing an array of moods and perspectives to be represented in a collection of small paintings creates an encompassing image of a landscape's character.

            Though displayed as a group, these works are available for purchase either separately or in multiples. This provides an opportunity for purchasers to create their own combined landscape.
